Today in class, we will:
1. Continue with our final period activity.
2. All work has been graded and entered. I am in the process of averaging for the semester grades. 
3. Semester grades are averaged with the 3 gradebooks (each progress report period). I will send out an email when they are posted. I will not post semester grades until after each period's final exam period.   The staff deadline to post to AERIES is Monday night.

December 14, 2016 Finals


Today in class, we will:
1. Continue with our final period activity.
2. If you were absent for any of Act I-IV review questions, you must come today at 2:00 p.m. to make up (after 7th period final). I leave at 3:10 p.m.
3. All current grades will be entered today (13 assignments).  Late work (as I have explained a million times) will be added after the current grades are in AERIES.
4. Semester grades are averaged with the 3 gradebooks (each progress report period). I will send out an email when they are posted.  The staff deadline to post to AERIES is Monday night.
5. If you were absent Tuesday 12/13/16, you must take the surveys by end of today or it will not be counted in your grade.

2. Thoughtfully and completely answer the Textbook Survey
3. Answer the survey about next semester (yes...2 surveys today)
4. Options after surveys:  code.org (find a a game to build) or visuwords (review vocab for other classes) or quizlet (and create study set for one of your finals)
5. HW: Study for all of your final exams in your other classes.

Today in class, we will:

1. Watch Carol Dweck's TedTalk about mindset as a class.
2. Work with a partner and research this topic (mindset, 
    growth mindset v. fixed mindset) and Carol Dweck.
3. With your partner, choose at least three different articles to
    use for class discussion on Monday.
4. For each of your three articles, write down title, author, 
    URL, source, summarize main point in two sentences and 
    find at least one good piece of evidence to share with the 
    class. Make sure you write down the exact 
    sentence/fact/evidence using quotation marks.
5. The sub will determine if this assignment is due at the end 
     of class or on Monday morning....depends on behavior!
6. HW: Finish in class work 12/5

1. Turn in Focus Questions to tray
2. Read "The Importance of Mindset" on page 61. Answer the questions on pages 63, 65, 67.
3. Carefully rip out/remove pages 63-68 and turn in to tray after they are complete.
**If you didn't do the online work yesterday, please use class time to complete them. I have five tablets for checkout.
4. HW: Finish in-class work 12/2; Bring a device 12/2

**As a reminder, please refer to the Late Work post on 11/18. Late work was accepted on November 28, 2016. Anything after that will not be graded. I collected the late work on Tuesday, 11/29 at 8:30 a.m. from the appropriate late work tray.
